I got....

Two cases of quarters
One case of halfs
One 1 1/2 stick :)
And the usual rockets, shells, etc.

(The neighbors hate me every year. :D We normally use the quarters and halfs for blowing up watermellons, boxes of Rice Krispies, etc)

What is on your shopping list this year?

I hope you realize that fireworks are bad for the environment and even your own health? Fireworks produce large amounts of ozone, which is dangerous to life on earth. Ozone is only useful high in the ozonelayer where it keeps UVC radiation from reaching the earth's surface.

If dynamite is the correct answer, where are you getting this stuff? I think it's illegal for people in the US to have anything like that without a license.

you Canadians get the good stuff----I couldn't get anything close to that unless I could still get some 1/4 sticks of dynomite. Used to have a friend whose dad owned a construction supply business, and he'd get a few of those---talk about fun:D

All explosives are illegal to posess and use without a permit in the United States. State laws vary. For more information go here.. Ground salutes, M-x's, most firecrackers, and cherry bombs are definitely illegal. If someone calls the cops and you get busted you could have the ATF on your tail fast!

Of course if you're in an area that nobody gives a rat's tail, go for it! :D I have a few kg's of sodium metal that I cut into mothball sized chunks and throw into a retention pond! :)

Just remember to be careful! If you're setting something off really big use an electric match or a cigar fuse and GET AWAY! Kind of hard to type without hands!

Cheers!

Gotta love the 1/4 sticks.. then again I remember when I set off a 3/4 stick, I bolted and ducked for cover when I lit that one.. left a huge crater..

Uh, guys, its legal for me to shoot up to 12" shells. :D I live in the US.

I apply for a local public display fireworks permit and a million dollar ins policy binder. Costs me nothing unless something gets damaged.

I can blow up stuff all day. The cops usually stop by around 5:00 and see the displays. I spend around $3-4k on aerial shells. This is the first year we are going to use electronic firing, because it is too dangerous setting off shells (They have instant fuses. Soon as you touch fire to them.... boom! Away they go)

Lighters cannot drink, as per the insurance policy. Afterwards, we get tanked. :)

I just headed up to the Reservation Today and picked up 50 bucks worth of rockets and other great things. Didnt get any m80's cause the police raided the vendors earlier and pretty much cleaned them out of illegal stuff.
Now the challenge is gonna be setting them off and getting away before the cops can chase me down. All part of the fun of the 4th if you ask me!!!!!!
I will definently head back up there on the 5th to get the great deals on fireworks for next year.

Jumbo & mini bottle rockets, roman candles, tons of firecrackers, M-60s, smoke bombs, jumping jacks. Picked them up in New Mexico and Texas :)

I got an idea lets get propane tanks, matches, and some wooden dowels: we can make the worlds biggest Estes Rocket.

We just got back for a friendly drive down to the Indian Reservations :) I got those cannon things. Where you put the ball in the cannon and it launches and blows up, those are sweet. I also got like 10 bricks of firecrackers.

You got any good links on how this is done or what you have to do to obtain such a license? thanks
