I posted the statistics before. It's not a lot of deaths in comparision, also not every DUI death was even contributable to the drinking...

you've been fooled into believing it though. There are 100's arrested almost everywhere each weekend for a DUI, no of those have usually or will even kill another on the road.

At $5,000-10k a pop it's a great system

The more you try to defend yourself, the more pathetic you are. The fact still remains, it is your 4th DUI, your a druggie and an alcoholic, the police don't believe you, we don't believe you, and neither will the judge. Your arguments are nothing more than the ramblings of an addict trying to justify poor choices and crappy behavior.

Oy Bane, add this one to your list!

HEY STUPID, he is the one doing the DUI arrest!

Then he should have said, "I made my...." instead of saying "Got my..."!

Glad he made a arrest. But, his Sergeant must go nuts trying to read his reports!

He does that on purpose to trap those who don't bother reading the thread before they post.

every one of his DUI threads is the same way.

And some of the replies by people too stupid to read the thread are hilarious!

Give em hell, copper!

Does every drunk driving episode result in an accident or death?
Of course not, but driving while intoxicated does impair your driving ability and as such, doing so puts the rest of the population at risk.

I fully support Drunk Driving Laws, but wish the penalties would be made tougher. NO ONE should have the opportunity to get a 4th DUI.

The 3rd one should carry a VERY LONG prison sentence.

what's really amazing is that some will go on and on and never read the first page of the thread where if they did they would have known from the start.

I don't agree with all laws, especially vice ones (let me do what i want as long as it doesn't adversely affect anyone else), but DUI can and does kill. people get comfortable and think they can handle it and don't realize that their reaction time is all screwed.

there was an accident outside my office at around 2am 2 week ago that sent 2 people to the hospital, one with life theating injuries. one car ran a red light speeding and t-boned the other. that was loud as hell.

No, I never have, asshole. When did you quit fucking your mother?

Seriously, is this the best you got? DUI is not a crime of intent.

If you're over the legal limit sitting in your car with the car off and the keys in the ignition, you can get a DUI. Bam, crime of intent.

PSA: If you're so drunk that you pass out before you're able to pull out of your parking spot, you should have called a taxi.

jlee, this is one point I can agree with you on. Drunk drivers need to die, please use any and all force necessary (or unnecessary I dont care about them since they dont care about others)

Give em a nice whack to the back of the head with that maglight you guys carry and say they fell :D

Yeah, and drunk gun owners with a round in the chamber should be charged with murder. :roll;

this is true... this is why you drop your keys outside before you take a nap and sober up :)

Sorry, I must have missed it... who here argued that DUI doesn't kill?

My argument is that the enforcement of the law in this case was excessive and selective, which has the effect of diluting the strength of the law.

And keep in mind, while drunk driving is a problem, less than half of all traffic fatalities are alcohol-related, and those that are not alcohol-related are rarely 'accidents,' but the direct result of someone's negligence. IOW, the same people who would wish the death penalty on the guy sleeping it off in his car are probably the same ones who think nothing of texting while driving, even though studies have proven conclusively that the level of impairment is the same.

edit: and don't even get me started on the large number of people on the road whose driving ability/skill even while sober is scarcely better than a drunk to begin with.

A habitual drunk driver is no different than a unlicensed gun welding nut waving it around on the streets. They belong with Plexicco.

Chew on that fawkers!

maybe the skoorb effect needs to be renamed to the skoorb-jlee effect?
