Currently testing prime at 2.57@1.8V 12.5x205.

Can get it to start booting to windows at 2.75 but it crashes, I think my Vantec Aeroflow isn't enough cooling for 2.1 volts oh well.

Physically, what are the differences between the mobile Barton's and the desktop versions?

What am I getting at is the increase in voltage when OC'ing a mobile chip. Since the default voltage of the mobile XP is 1.45v, can you still go up to 1.75 - 1.8v and it still be OK with air cooling?

cpu is very unlocked :D besides that nothing physically different on the chip besides the fact its rated to run at 2400 at a lower voaltage which means usually its a better chip.

I want this bad but I can't access multipliers higher than 12.5 :( Unless someone is willing to provide me with the pin out diagram of the chip? :D

Why would you need anything higher? Are you running under 200mhz FSB?

Kt266A.......what do you think? :(

Falloutboy525, what's the stepping and week of that CPU?? I'm about to purchase one. When did you buy it? :D

You might have to kill the middle L3 bridge IIRC. Google for unlocking with the L3 for info. Basically the muliplier map for the connected L3 bridge is something like 5~12.5x and disconnected 13~20x(?) But you wouldn't be able to use the <13x multis after the mod (would you want to though :D).

Also I've heard that some mobos don't play well with the mobile chips so YMMV.

its a week 46 IQYHA suposubly a good stepping but my cooling is too subpar to find out. on amdmb most people are getting 2.5 easy on a decent MB.

2266mhz on mine, 12.5x181 maxing out my Asus A7N-266-C board, Wish the multipliers above 12.5X worked (I have them but it won't boot with them selected) only 1.65V too

I just saw it on another site and it's basically the same as a Tbred. I'm on a Tbred 1700 now with a simple mod that enabled higher multipliers. I guess I'm good to go. :D

Falloutboy525...When did you buy the CPU? :D What temps are you getting with it now?

Those guys over at amdmb pushed the barton 2500 over 100 bucks. Crazy people.

I bought the CPU last monday from newegg about an hour before the price hike :D, temps with my Vantec Aeroflo are 44C Idle 53CPrimeing , as soon as I get my Artic silver thats on order i should be getting a few less degrees which should let my pump another .1V into the chip and get 2.65ghz

1.45v... well I know that it uses PowerNow! and that low starting multiplier and low voltage is good for keep the heat down and battery life long. But isn't the PowerNow! Driver supposed to increase the multiplier AND the voltage to raise the cpu freq. when needed? Seems like 2ghz @ 1.45v is stretching it

I believe Powernow does not work on Desktop mobos.

I have a AXMH2500FQQ4C AQZFA 0340VPAW (2500+ XP-M) but as yet no system to use it in. I do have an Abit NF7-S Rev 2.

I'm wondering, does your mobo correctly identify your 2400+ XP-M? The reason I'm wondering is because I'd like to know whether any of the chip's functions (e.g. full set of SSE extensions) depend on the proc being identified by the mobo.

Now I've just got to persuade Abit to support PowerNow with a BIOS revision

Thanks and nice overclock!

Having my 2400 mobile barton running at 1.83G(166x11) @1.375V. It's stable at 2G with 1.45V. Very happy with it.
