Card is installed. 🙂 Got some CCC problems with the 8.7 driver supplied by Diamond and with Catalyst 8.9. However, 8.8 works perfectly so far and I see a very noticeable difference with my o/c 3870 in Oblivion with QTP3, even with my current X2 4200+ CPU not helping. I've overclocked the card to 790MHz core. Did not feel the need to overclock the memory as the card is far from bandwidth starved. The card idles at 78C and loads at 84C.

Could I keep the CCC and still used ATI Tray Tool just to set my fan?

Once I have secured my funding, I'll pair this with an overclocked E8600.😀

You should try out the new 8.10 beta's. I have a HIS 4870 1GB card and these new drivers are great. They also include Fan Control right in CCC on the Overdrive tab.

Winrar, will take ~10 seconds from start of download to end of installation. It's the only zip program I'd ever use.

yeah, I actually used to use winrar a lot in the good ole' days of burning dreamcast games. Fine I guess you convinced me to give these drivers a try... I'll be back to let you guys know whats up =)
