Got my 1.2ghz/KT7A-RAID up and running...

I just got it all together and I am running at 1307 right now at a 145(290DDR)FSB!! I just ran a memory bench and I got 622/677...I will report back in a bit...time to play 😀 🙂

Well, I know how useless the in socket thermistor is, so I am using a flat style probe slid in between the HSF and the CPU with the tip touching the CPU core, and it is running like 32-38c at default voltage. I am at 10 X 136 now. I just posted at 1420, but Windows gave me a divide overflow error...back to tweaking..🙂

Ok..I think I may have found my "sweet spot". I am at 1350mhz now, 9 X 150, and I am getting a memory score of 640/700! I will see how much farther the FSB will go...😀

Good going! Makes me want to get a 1200 now 🙂 I can only get 146 FSB out of mine so far at 1168MHz. (multiplier @ 800) Have fun tweaking. From what I understand, some of the 1100's do not OC very well. I can get alittle better than 1200 at a straight multiplier, but not with a reduced multiplier and increased FSB unless I tone down my RAM settings. I will not do that since I like CAS2 Turbo settings. I also may have the chipset that does not like much over 145 FSB, or maybe it is because all 3 RAM slots are filled.

Anyway, I am still very happy with the speed and stability, but will consider getting a 1200 just for the hell of it 🙂 What week is your 1200 BTW?

I am using Mushkin High Performance Revision 2 Mosel Vitalic, two 128mb sticks. I am running at 150, CAS2, 4-way...

ZeroBurn is correct, it is a week 52 blue core. I bought it from Sunset Marketing in Maryland. They were not the cheapest, but for $10 more they charge you, you get a full 1 year warranty...not this 15 day crap. I wrote down all the numbers before I put it together...

I got my Artic Silver thermal epoxy and copper HSF for the Northbridge and I will be doing that soon. The epoxy does not have instructions, but I assume you mix equal parts and let it set up..right? I thought you mentioned you used that AS epoxy on your northbridge..how did you do it? Also, I am at default voltages! I will be doing some more tweaking...🙂

Yes, I used Arctic Silver Adhesive on the Northbridge with a Blue Orb. I just cleaned the Northbridge with rubbing alcohol, lapped the Orb, and mixed the AS Adhesive 1 to 1, and applied a thin smooth layer on the Northbridge. Then just apply even pressure to the HS until it sets.

Sounds like all is going very well for you. Keep us posted on what you can get out of it when you install the copper Northbridge HSF, and up the voltage.

"Did you connect the l1 bridges with conductive pen or pencil ? Or where they already closed ? There is an article at www.overclockers.com that T-birds 1.2 GHz are unlocked. Is yours locked or unlocked ?"

Factory unlocked..🙂

No, I didn't need to do anything to the bridges, they were uncut. Yes, I can use any multiplier between 7 and 12.5...

I got my Thunderbird from Sunset Marketing, but they don't seem to list them anymore. I guess they might have sold out..🙁. I would imagine anyplace you get a 1.2 from will have similar results.. Oh, and I paid $270 with a 1 year warranty.

Way to go Insane3D!! Now that you've got your system running well, I'm gonna go out and get a copycat system of yours 😛 Well, not exactly, but the same base components!!

Congrats dude! 🙂

Now all you need a GeForce 2 Ultra to take advantage of the extra system speed. heh

I'm getting my 1.2GHz CPU tomorrow. I don't know if I want to get a KT133A board now, or hold off until the DDR boards and memory come into the local retail channel.
