lightnings have been utterly disapointing to me the last few generations anyhow under performing on average barely out performing reference cards so im not sad to see they are passing on 780ti lightings.

I guess this will be the "lighting" for the 780ti generation hopefully it lives up to the kingpin hype the last few things he put his name into were very meh result reviewed products.

I would guess they weren't allowed or willing to go around the green light program again and said to hell with it. Nvidia got upset with both the 680 and 780 lightnings.

Or they figure they'd sell more 290x lightnings than 780ti's and put everything into that card instead of going the half-assed route of slapping a 780 cooler onto it as others have done.

I don't know, I did some research on the update of this of only 12 being made and so far I see the only source for this is BB. I don't know it could be true but kind hard for me to believe it 100 percent so far imo.

First posted results from over at the Evga forums..

1359mhz voltage at 1.212 in Valley. Some throttling due to 110% stock bios power limit.

Saw this on their forums over there................

e: EVGA GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition 3 days ago (permalink)

k|ngp|n

"And since EVGA still doesn't know how to evade nvidia greenlight that means that............... 😉
1. limited like the classified just binned chips..................WRONG!
2. Doesn't come out and gets cancelled(unlikely)...............100% UNLIKELY
3. EVGA decides to allow hardmodding of the card to go past nvidia's greenlight..................Every card ive tested did close to 1800mhz without a single mod, most over 1800. We just hit 1950+ in the lab and still no mods! 🙂 "

Just wait and see, don't speculate. You think I would put my name on a locked down card?

Holy cow batman, 1800mhz on air?

Just installed mine and jumped right into a game to see what it does out of box with no tweaking.

Idle 26c and nearly silent. On par noise wise with Msi's coolers which I couldn't say about the 780 classified I got rid of.

In game 1189 @ 1.161 72c (still pretty quiet, noticeably better than the 780 classified).

Was able to run the valley benchmark with a +103 offset. 1292 mhz @ 1.161v 80c. Fan speed 54% and still reasonably quiet. No idea if it's completely stable yet though just did one benchmark loop.

Asic 63.6

Awesome card, awesome clock for air. You are at 80c and only at 54% fan.....on a card that truly isn't meant for air.

To buy or not to buy......
