Just completed the build of my first computer ever. Everything seems to be going great, except the active light is on all the time one the 3.5" floppy drive. Put a floppy in the slot and try to run it and it tells me there is no disk present. Any ideas?

Yeah and do it fast...friend of mine did this once and didn't realize it, it was running like that for awhile and all of a sudden it caused something in his PC to short circuit and the mobo caught on fire...

I don't know if it was the floppy cable being backwards or that was just a coincidence, but...

Ppl. still build computers w/ floppy drives?? I got rid of mine 4+ yrs ago.

They can occasionly come in handy.. BIOS update or whatever it may be..

It's not like its a BAD thing to have one in.

most floppy drives now come with multi flash card slots (just in case your friend has a diferent type of flash memory on his digital camera than yours)
