These are going into new build which I dont have yet...so I threw them into my families computer...working fine, found 3.5 gigs in vista 32bit.

Is there some sort of stress test you're supposed to put them through, or are they just fine as long as they boot and run for a bit?

Thanks.

Can that run in the background while still using internet etc? Or does it take up the whole comp?

no, it takes the whole comp and u REALLY should do it. bad ram can and will corrupt your OS.

run memetest86+ v2.01 with a boot up cd for 24 hours (or about 40-50passes) on each stick

Run Memtest86+ v2.01 overnight, then run HCI Memtest during the day at work.
BTW, for HCI, make sure you run as many instances as you need to utilize nearly all the RAM.
I like to run two instances for dual cores, four for quads.

Or something like that, & you'll have determined stability :)

memtest86+ tests more for faulty ram. if u get errors running stock settings with memtest86+ its time for an RMA. you can get HCI memtest errors even if your ram is fine (it may just mean that your OS is corrupted)
