Got in an accident last night

I got rear-ended last night on the freeway.

It was raining pretty hard. I had been behind another BMW for about 20 minutes. I saw a bunch of swerving up front, then the guy directly in front of me slammed on his breaks. I slammed on mine pretty hard (hard enough to feel my Anti-lock breaks), and had to make a quick decision: either go forward and hit him slightly, or swerve a foot to the right and avoid him, but possibly be put in the next lane over. I decided to swerve - I was about a foot into the other lane.

I distinctly remember looking up in my rear view mirror to see if I was going to get rear ended... however, I didn't see anyone nearly close enough and decided I was ok. I looked back down and got ready to shift gears, then WHAM... I got rear ended by a girl doing about 45.

My car got nailed then flew sideways into the guy infront of me. It then bounced off him and flew through the other lanes of traffic (somehow there were no cars in the lanes next to me, thank God), and I flew over to the side of the road next to an embankement. It was a steep hill, I was going towards it, and my breaks didn't work... thank you e-brake!! I stopped just in time on the side of the road... The cops actually thought I had driven it there, haha.

Edit: Forgot to mention that SHE was at fault. She was in the same lane, coming from directly behind me.

That was a nice car! Glad you're okay. I'm assuming you'll be at fault?

Glad your ok ... from that rear-end damage it doesn't look like the car that hit you was going 45 mph.

If the car that hit him was in his original lane, then I feel that the other party is likely at fault. But if the car that hit him was in his 'new' lane, then the OP is at fault. The OP's account is not clear on this point. Highly probable that many were going too fast or following too closely in the rain, so it's a matter of who is most at fault :p

Sorry to hear it. If she was going that fast, then I hope you've been to the hospital.

My Dad started having some severe shoulder/neck pains a coupla years back, and the doctors determined that it was from a collision he was in nearly ten years previous. So.. you may feel fine, but it's hard to know if there's small structural damage that will cause problems down the line without getting really checked out.

Saw the exit sign - I used to date a girl who lived in mill creek.

I did go to the hospital. I'm definitely feeling sore this morning.

It is. When I got hit my seat flew all the way backwards. I have this weird moment of clarity where I remember seeing my sirius radio fly by my face with shattered glass.

Are you sure you've got a driver's license? You look like you're 12. ;)

(Sorry, I felt compelled to make a dumb joke after your other thread. I'm only kidding.)

Hope your soreness is just that and not something worse.

OP,
Are you old enough to have a drivers license? You don't look it.

Yeah, exact same color... Note to all 17 year old girls: Do not make your first crash involve 2 BMWs!

Hey, learn how to drive and don't follow so damn close to the car in front of you next time! Then you won't need to make any jackass lane swerving maneuvers when something happens up front.
