got in a wreck today...

I was stopping by home before returning back to school after my dentist appointment....was completely stopped, had my turn signal on, and was waiting for the other side to clear up so I could turn into my driveway...and out of nowhere, THUMP. Some idiot in a truck nailed the van I was driving...came out and said, "Sorry man, didn't even see ya stopped." Spent two hours at the hospital, I've got a neck spasm and neck/shoulder strain, and I feel like sh!t..worst part is I have finals two days from now and two 3 page papers to write that are due tomorrow..PERFECT timing. At least I got some enoucouragement from the people at the hospital. "Tomorrow you won't even feel like getting up it will hurt so bad, it's always a lot worse the day after."

*title changed for Rudee's benefit*

looks like you'll be getting some $$$ to help pay for tuition now 😉

sorry to hear about your accident 🙁 I hope tomorrow isn't as rough as the hospital folk made it out to be.

sorry to hear that.... getting rear ended sucks, car crashes suck. Could have been worse though.. Sounds like you'll be fine after a few days of rest. I'm sure you could talk to your teachers and they might be nice and have some sympathy and give a few days extenstion on the papers.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Look at the bright side: at least it wasn't YOUR vehicle, right? 😉 I'm sure your profs will give you a few days extension based on current circumstances. Good luck to you.

<< most likely just money to cover my hospital and car bills though...grr >>

Well, you can live up to the American way by sueing the hell out of the guy who hit you, his insurance company, the company he works for, the manafacturer of the van you were driving, the person who lent you the van, the dealership who sold the van to the person who lent you the van, and the city you had the accident in for not having higher-visibility stop signs.

Oh, and don't forget to sue your dentist for making your appointment last so long and consequently causing you to have to rush home.

😀

You also needs to sue the break companies, the person who invented roads and the person who invented cars. And while you're at it, sue my insurance company...they'll cave to any BS insurance claim.

🙁 I sincerely hope you have more reasonable teachers than I had in college. I had a prof that didn't believe that I got in a wreck even after I showed him the painkiller prescriptions I received.

That's when you have the wreck towed to his front lawn and set it on fire. "Believe me now?"

Isn't it funny how professors can skip class and do a completely halfassed job and get off scot free just saying "Sorry, I was too tired to come in" yet they can be complete jerks to the students whenever they please?
Who is paying who here?
Something ain't right.

My wife had an accident much like that a couple of years ago (this was after another similar accident two years before that - bad luck, us). She has a degenerative disc that surgery will not be able to correct. We settled too soon w/the first ins. company and I'm kicking my butt now. The 2nd wreck has hurt her neck and reinjured her back (arthritis is now setting in) and she's pretty much unable to work but we have virtually no recourse anymore.

Don't settle early!!

You are aware of the double-meaning of that phrase aren't you?

Given the choice, he might be better off if it had been the other meaning.
