I played out as a forward last night, and after multiple collisions and falling down, my left knee is really sore on the side. I can barely walk and had to call in sick to work this morning. I have an appt to see the doc this afternoon, which is about the same time as when the UPS guy comes with my new case. :(

I love skating, and I love watching Hockey, but I have never acquired the balls to try hockey out at one of our local rinks... (Columbus has like 5 or so)

My friend loves hockey... and it resulted in him having 3 knee surgeries. He had all 3 surgeries recorded even played them for everyone to see during Thanksgiving.

You know what they say... "Give Blood, Play Hockey"...

I ruptured my spleen when an RIT defenseman crosschecked me in the abdomen while I was trying to shovel some garbage into the net... a spleenectomy and 6 weeks later, I was back to playing again...

It can get dangerous though... coworker of mine broke his ankle falling the wrong way along the boards... it was his first try at organized hockey... never played again.

I remember that Boston U kid who was playing his first minute in his first college game that got checked into the boards and became a quadrapalegic. Rough sport.

I think I'm sticking with tennis and soccer! :D Of course hockey isn't exactly bringin' 'em in down here in the Deep South although we did have a team for awhile but I believe last year was their last season.

I'm an ice hockey goalie and I'm constantly bruised. :)

I've also dislocated my shoulder 4 times while playing, winding up in the ER the first (I learned how to put it back in for the 3 times after that).

1 groin pull - 3 weeks out
1 blown knee - 1 month out

Getting hit in the head for fun...

Priceless. :)

Travis Roy, number 24 the only number retired in BU history

it happened something like 46 secs. into his BU carreer. That was very sad, he was a hot prospect at the time as well, (not that this makes it worse than if he was a walk-on)

<----BU season ticket holder Section 8 Row A

I remember that play... but didn't he get tripped up (maybe even on his own?) and fell head first into the end boards? I don't recall anyone checking him into it...

Sad nonetheless...
