There's no pain on the outside, but inside my ear feels sticky and waxy. I cleaned my ear with a q-tip thoroughly (or at least as deep as you can safely stick in a q-tip), but my middle/inner ear still feels sticky, and i'm having a hard time clearing the sinus fluid (yawning, etc doesn't clear it). so what do i do? if i form my hand into a cup-shape i can kind of agitate it hydraulically similar to a toilet plunger, but should I be doing this or will it clear up on its own?

I intend to sleep, not because I'm a man but because it's late and I'm tired. the question that I put to you experts is if this will clear the waxy sensation and dulled acoustics. call me a man, call me a pussy, call me curious, but my inner ear itches and it's too deep to scratch.

What do you mean by hit in the ear exactly. A sideways blow or something flat and directed straight at the ear. If it's the latter you might have some sinus issues due to pressure build up due to the force of the blow. I would wait a few days and see if it starts to get better or now. If not or gets worse go to a doctor.

What a pussy. I wrestled before headgear was mandatory. Been hit slapped, slammed, on my ears a million times. Made me feel alive! Do you feel alive?

Obviously the only answer here is surgery to relieve the pressure on your brain.

if you don't want to go to the doctor... if you have a drill handy with a good masonry drillbit, you can do it yourself.

the latter. never had my sinus fluid screwed up before so I wasn't sure how serious/urgent of an issue this is, but if you say that it goes away then I can wait.

Otherwise this could happen!

Hay I'm no doc. This is just ATOT medical advise. Usually sinus stuff either clears up or it doesn't. If it doesn't do see a doc.

well the warfaring neanderthals certainly do not miss an opportunity to celebrate themselves; I suppose I'm grateful for the little things. my pleasure everyone.

:hmm:

you post for medical advise on a technical OFF TOPIC forum at 2:00 in the morning...

what did you actually expect?

Perhaps you shoulda paged our on-call resident Emergency Technician using the "notify resident doctor" forum post button.

We are acting this way because you are acting like a bitch about nothing. Without cartilage damage of the external ear you simply were not hit hard. I could tell you how to fix that with a syringe and drain it but your injury is minor ear canal aggravation. More shit you stick in there worse it's going to get. Sleep it off.

Or go to ER I don't care.

Did you fight a 3 year old? I mean, one other than me? :awe:

the bulldozer thread was the last viewed page on my phone so when my browser launched it refreshed on that page. when I woke up today it was about 85% cleared out and now it kind of goes back and forth. flexing my face muscles, yawning or having a conversation kind of clear it up a bit. so i imagine it'll be fine pretty soon. it was hard going to sleep last night though, i felt like i was 10 feet underwater.

Talking about sinuses. My ears have been rather plugged since I got back from Hawaii and have only started to clear in the last few days. I did a lot of snorkeling and got a lot of water in my ears. It's felt like I've had a cold for the past 2 weeks. Finally starting to get better. So yea most sinus issues aren't going to be major.
