Yeah, glasses were a HUGE boon to my education. I would do the math or whatever correctly, but I would be writing down the wrong numbers/symbols and get the 'wrong' answer. If you want to take it to the next level, try contacts! You'll be amazed how much peripheral vision changes your life.

Glasses from 1978 until 2002. Then lasik. And yes, the very first time was sweet. But 20/15 lasik won. :)
Any side affects that you'd want someone to know about?

I shouldn't even ask because I'm middle aged and would need glasses to read if I got Lasik. I think I'd rather be wearing glasses full time than carry reading glasses around with me.

Whatever you do, do not get the type of lasik where one eye is corrected for near sightedness and the other farsightedness. Everyone I know that has had that done has done nothing but btch about it. Only correct your long distance vision and wear reading glasses.
I always thought that would mess with your brain. It, through whatever magic, combines both images into one and with both of them focused differently, well, it just don't sound right.

OP had a fairly minor correction. -1.25 is noticeable but not too bad. I am -5.50 in each eye.
