Went into Kroger and was told the same by the manager. I had heard radio ads about this and wanted to know exactly.

Every 100 points (1 pt is $1 purchase) gets $0.10 per gallon at the Kroger fuel center. This is up to a total of $1 off. That means you have to spend $1K in Krogers for that month. Month totals do not combine; but the total for last month or thins month does determine the discount.

I've heard that if you have more than one car and both you/wife/etc. go to the pump and the same time, it will let you get the discount on both! ;)

Edit: I have not tried this (yet).

The best deal for me is using the BP credit card which gives me the cash price and 5% off. Unfortunately, not all BP follow these rules and some charge you the credit card price.

Actually, that's a really good deal considering some give 5% off for cash price.

Ive done this with Safeway discounts when they stacked. Had $1 off/gal, we both went to the pumps, I filled my car, she moved mine and pulled hers up, and filled hers.

Most places with discounts like this usually have a gallon limit though.

Usually it is 50 gallons

The trick is to not shut off the pump.

The extra oil means nothing, the oil thugs continue their pillaging.

Crude oil back at $92 per barrel

Crude oil prices headed toward $92 per barrel Tuesday morning as equities rose in Asia and Europe and the dollar index shifted lower, down 0.15 percent.

Reformulated blendstock gasoline added 5.84 cents to $2.8028 per gallon.

"Crude oil prices continued their upside momentum and climbed higher, supported by a weaker US dollar and a recent rally in the global equity markets," said Sucden analyst Myrto Sokou.

National average should be around 3.50 now if I'm seeing 3.6-3.7 in my area. This is for regular btw.

Considering that many analysts think that it takes $100 oil to support $3.25 to $3.30 gas, I say it should be cheaper.

Oil Speculation Is Jacking Up Gas Prices Dramatically

A decade ago, speculators controlled less than 30 percent of the oil futures market.

Today, they control more than 70 percent.

The result, the report says, is that consumers are paying about 80 cents more than they should be paying for a gallon of gas.

Exxon-Mobil chief executive officer Rex Tillerson said Wall Street speculators are driving up the price of oil by 40 percent.

“And he actually estimates that the true production price of oil today is $60 to $70 a barrel,” Meiffren said.

But the actual price of oil is just over $90 right now.

“So considering the U.S. economy as a whole, this translates to a speculation premium of over $1 billion, just for May alone,” Meiffren said.
Meiffren says the Wall Street Reform Act required that limits be placed on speculation by January of this year, but, she says it’s not being enforced because of the lobbying by Wall Street firms.

Chicago’s gasoline prices remain the highest in the nation, ranging from $3.64 to $4.59, according to ChicagoGasPrices.com

Uh, I do too. I have been saying for awhile oil companies/producers are keeping the price artificially inflated and are continuing to do so. For oil per barrel and the price of gasoline per gallon @ the pump. It should have been 3.50 a couple weeks ago, but they're taking their time. We should see quite the slide down though over the next couple weeks. It's going to be harder and harder for them to justify these insane prices when demand is down and supply is up(even though they're artificially pulling it back).

Honestly Dave, I'm not sure how true that really is. The speculators took a huge hit when the Arab Spring jumped off, pumping oil up huge thinking the supply was going to drop out(it didn't), then behind the speculator rise was the producers and oil corps hiding their own hikes(the ones I believe are still affecting us today). I mean why else would OPEC talk about their lower production numbers? They're trying to justify the higher price of their oil, even though they themselves completely choose to cut back production in order to keep favorable prices. These countries specifically would see it as a huge loss for oil to go back down into reasonable levels(where do you think the majority of their GDP comes from?)

If we could actually take advantage of our oil resources, open land for solar farms, switched over to thorium reactors, these countries would tank.

I will be VERY surprised if a temporary release from strategic oil reserve has anything more than a temporary effect.
Yep, like I said I think today it's already recovered more or less all of what it dropped after that stupid release of strategic petroleum.
Speculation is not going to stop until they get badly burned
As long as it's volatile there will always be somebody getting rich, and those who will end up burned like to think themselves as those who will get rich, I think an endless supply of them will keep coming.

With the way the ME is going today once these countries run out of oil money then we'll really see how badly they are managed. As it is they are barely tenable, hardly able to stay together. When the oil no longer buys their roads and military, those that were unable to quickly switch over to not sucking (and that doesn't seem to be many of them at this rate) are really going to go to hell in a handbasket.

Dropped to $3.33 in Lexington yesterday morning and some stations were back up to $3.49 by evening. Grabbed a tank of the $3.33 stuff yesterday.

I noticed that all the stations on my way to work have increased their prices by as much as $0.17/gal. Have to wonder if this is due to the long holiday weekend and they will drop again next week.

Would you quit b1tching about the high gas prices in Chicago?

I've lived here almost my entire life, it's just the way it is. You hate Republican's and Conservatives, and spew jizz when thinking of Democrat's and Liberal's. Well, be happy then. Chicago area gas prices are jacked up vs. the rest of the country because of your hero's...welcome to the world you wanted.

First, this is not my thread

Second, show me proof the reason gas is highest here due to the Messiah.
