dave I'm not trying to come off as an ass or anything.

This is just an industry I have spent a few years of my life in

The only thing ass related is the screwing the American public getting without lube

It is an Industry clearly out of control.

Collusion, price gouging etc used to be illegal in this country.

Now Corporations own the Government and can do whatever the hell they want.

The only thing we can do is pull a Politician out of office sooner than they wanted to be and that doesn't even do much.

Car Rental Agencies Charging $9 Per Gallon for Gas

USA Today found companies like Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty charging anywhere from $8.99 to $9.29 a gallon.

Rental agreements specifically state the price per gallon of fuel that will be charged if the vehicle is returned with less than the agreed upon level in the tank. Consumers need to take a few minutes out of their hectic schedule and fill the tank to the appropriate level before returning the car. While the charge is designed to be a deterrence, charges that could amount to more than a $200 fill up border on the nearly ridiculous.

The recent requirements placed on the airline industry by the United States Department of Transportation, prove just how far the government will take protecting travelers. Perhaps in the next edition, they can tackle rental car agencies doubling the average price per gallon of fuel.

Doesn't sound any different than a hotel minibar?
Pay for the service as you left this part out

"Of course, just like all other types of fees designed to discourage a certain behavior among consumers, avoiding a $9 per gallon fill up is a relatively simple process."

No the best thing we can do is what Obama already started is repeal their tax breaks caused due to tax breaks for manufacturing(which oil falls under) and make them pay up for the profits they're getting from us.

But... it kind of feels like the government supports this. They could easily put pressure on the oil companies and oil producing nations to cut this shit the fuck out. I don't think they will though. Our Congress and Administration is pretty big up on "green" tech. Higher prices at the pump put political pressure to pursue said "green" tech. This COULD bite us in the ass if we're stuck paying expensive subsidiaries for a long period of time for this said push of "green" tech if breakthroughs are few and far in between.

Like I said, high prices will sink demand--they already are clearly--and prices will come down; the current trend cannot possibly continue. Every time this happens there is mass hysteria. The prices of used Priuses have literally gone up by 20% easily in the past month alone (I look at their prices frequently and that 20% is no exaggeration--across the board, I've seen $10k cars now going for $13-14k and a used 2010 Prius is often substantially more to buy right now than it was brand new a year ago). These dolts are paying through the nose and prices will drop because the economy cannot possibly withstand it. Airline fuel surcharges on international flights are literally hundreds of dollars (read on cnn money a couple days ago I think it was), people are already cutting back driving, particularly poor (again cnn money or yahoo finance).
Like I've been saying for weeks, oil bubble and it would crash. Has it EVER fallen this much in a single day?

Edit: Well, this is the biggest drop in two years.

The thing is high prices at the pump aren't the only thing driving down demand. Consumption is on the decline regardless.

Dave says it's going to $1,000. Has he ever been wrong?
He'll just keep parotting his new favorite birther Trump, who says it's going up to God knows what. It's still a shame dmocwen never agreed to stop trolling gas threads if gas didn't hit $5 by Memorial Day as I asked back in April.

Leading tag line by News anchors in Chicago tonight

"Gas prices heading down by a dollar or more, tune in at 10 to see why."
-----------------------------------------------------
A dollar drop would only get us back to high $3

OK - just watched

They said since Bin Laden is dead so the "Mideast worries are gone from the market" and the dollar is getting stronger on European market.

They said Chicago will still be paying highest in Country for Summer blend surcharge.

Obama should step in and shut that shit down as Bush did.

Amen. Why should their even be a bubble for gas? Someone has made huge money off of this, cashed out, and now its going to drop .50 and we will start the same shit in 6 months. This is a big scam and same with the other commodities.

Oil above $100

Oil rises to above $100 in Asia, stanching week-long plunge, ahead of key US jobs report

Some analysts expect oil to resume its rise as political unrest in the Middle East and North Africa could spread and threaten to disrupt crude supplies in the oil-rich region.

"Those geopolitical risks have not disappeared," said Victor Shum, an analyst with energy consultancy Purvin & Gertz in Singapore. "I think the up trend over the long term is still in tact, and what we saw yesterday was a big bump in the road."

================================
Now let's see what the News Anchors have to say as the price at the pump continues towards $6 here in Chicago.

It must be so frustrating being so retarded.

Your article is as irrelevant now as all of your lies about what the price of gas actually is:

I would like to see real supply disruption data impact on market prices vs. Speculation and data drivem reports impact on market prices

Sounds more like oil prices listen to the TMZ of market data

Again this all part and parcel of undulating plateau of peak oil
Prices rise demand crashes economy, improves, prices rise , demand crashes over and over again
http://rwer.wordpress.com/2010/04/02/doe-sidles-up-to-peak-oil/
Didn't read your link but there is definitely a supply/demand component to this and oil squeeze has predicated something like five of the last six recessions. It is to a huge degree exacerbated by commodities traders @*#(ing around with prices, though.
