This area, contrary to popular belief, is a great place to live. The recession hasn't really impacted us any. There have been some job losses but not nearly what a lot of the country has experienced.

I live near Gulf Shores (halfway between GS and Mobile) but commute to Mobile everyday. Give us a better location and we'll find an apartment for you

I was looking at the gulf shores area actually, I am pretty sure I do not want to actually live in the city, I like one close but never cared for downtown type living.

That's going to be one heck of a commute. It takes me about 25-30 minutes to get to Guld Shores and about 35-40 minutes to get to Mobile, so you're looking at a minumum 1hr commute.

Holy shit I didn't realize so many people on here are in Alabama. I'm working Huntsville now, go to school in Tuscaloosa, and originally from Escambia county. We need to have a meet, maybe Blue Gill on the Causeway? 😛 I could really go for some soft shelled crab.

And OP, stay out of Prichard and Crichton (Who all seen da leprechaun say YEAAAHH!). 😀
