Last Sunday, I went to Firestone and got my brakes checked out. Afterwards, I noticed that the rims on the right side of the car were missing the middle peice. They are cheap factory rims, but nonetheless the right side of the car now looks like crap.

The only people working were two mechanics who said they couldn't do anything about it because they couldn't find the peices. The manager was not working. Its been a week and I havent done anything about it, so I'm gonna go down in person today and talk to a manager, but it has been a week. Do you think its too late? What is a reasonable thing to ask for? New rims on all four tires?

Here is a pic: Text

It's not his duty to notice everything at the time he picks it up.. A week later is reasonable.

It depends on how well you talk, but it shouldn't be too hard to convince the manager to pay for the parts you need. The middle part of rims can be ordered from a dealership - and, most repair shops get huge discounts at the dealership. So, if he doesn't wanna pay for it straight up, you could probby convince him to go half and half - and then never go there for repair again.

But something this cosmetically retarded? Shoulda noticed that on the walk-around when you checked to make sure they didn't take a pipe wrench to your body panels.

I did notice it. I said I talked to the two mechanics on duty at the time who refused to do anything. I havent had a chance to talk to manager yet.

I would not have left until I either spoke with a manager or filed a police report.

If you need anything else done to the car keep that in mind, much easier for him to give $100 off or something rather than write you a check for price of the missing parts

I'm sure you'll have no problems getting your center caps replaced. LOL at the new rims part though.

Similar experience for me. I was in an accident and the body shop sent my car to be detailed after they fixed it. Well, They took everything out of my car (personal papers, clothes, a hat, the remote to my MP3 player, plus more..) All that was left was my registration. I was pissed. I never got my stuff back nor have I been compensated for my loss. The place denied taking my things, or even seeing them. I can't prove a thing, so I got screwed hard core.

BTW, if I had known it was going to be sent to be detailed, I would have removed my personal belongings.

A police report? For a $25 piece? Not gonna happen. Police would laugh at him.

Oh man, wouldn't it be great to walk up and catch them doing it?

Are they only worth $25? If so, it's not even worth posting this thread. I thought we were talking about a few $100s here.

Center cap is cheap. I can get center caps for my Porsche for $28 a piece from a dealer and I know those parts are overpriced from the dealer.

still I dont want to take my car to a dealership only to have to pay another $25 + installation on a part that was there when I got there.

However this is why I try to do my own work most of the time.

Oh, I completely agree. The place owes him the center cap. Was just elaborating for Osorum on the cost.
