Got Asus M6NE barebone, Installing CPU now..?

hey guys, I got my Asus M6NE barebone.. and damn this thing looks sweet .. I ran into an early problem with CPU installation.. How do you access the CPU socket? There is a Plastic plate with Power and other buttons covering it. I already took the screws off, But still its there.. Tried tweezers, screw driver, etc.. no help

This is not an answer to your question, but, where did you get the M6NE barebone.

Did you ever figure it out? I'm planning to get an Asus A64 barebones soon, and from what I thought you had to do is simply unscrew the bottom compartment and other stuff then you have access to the cpu.

Sorry I didn't see this post until now but I built an Asus M6BNE as well.

The black trim that goes around the keyboard just pops off if I remember correctly. From the pic you posted it appears you already have the upgrade pdf document, but I'll post a link below for those who might need it. I was going to take pics along the way when I was building mine but things went so easy and quick I totally forgot. The mini pci intel wifi card was what gave me the most trouble. The connectors for the antenna take a lot of pressure until they snap on. I hope I never have to remove it. Let us know how the install went.

hey bud, thanks.. Ye i figured it out..used a tweezer with taped ends and it poped off.. Mini Pci install gave me the same prob.. took a lot pressure to snap those antenna connectors. But everything is working now

Google your notebook's model #, I'm sure you will hit some forum/thread with info.
