Hi folks, im looking to build a barton for some fun, need some good recommendations for a heatsink to keep temps low. Im not OCing but would like to have some good temps regardless. The stock amd heatsinks, atleast on the t-breds were not too peachy and i need some input, anything besides the slk series though, that thing is HUGE!!!

Stock Barton heatsink isn't too bad. A tad loud but most people shouldn't mind too much. I'm using stock heatsink on mine because it's functional and doesn't cost extra. I would give stock one a chance. You can always replace it later if you find it unsatisfactory.

naustica what are your temps? Im not too discouraged by stock sound levels, but rather more concerned with the temp lvls....what are your temps at idle and under stress?

I don't put much trust in software temp readings but Sandra reports my CPU temp at 45.5 C at idle and around 51 load. That's with 5 case fans at 5v I believe.
