Got another ticket tonight

went through a stop sign at about 3mph, got pulled over and was given a ticket 🙁

cop says if i show up for court on time and everything he'll recommend it be deferred 😀

hopefully he sticks to his word

Lemme guess...you drive a Civic, with a big fart pipe. The officer was actually going to let you off, but while u were fidgetting for your wallet and e-surance card, you felt the urge to itch your nose....and blow that bad assed zit all over his paperwork.

actually, i drive a 300zx, and no, he took my license and insurance verification and came back with a ticket, after i talked with him for a few minutes he said he would recommend it be deferred as long as i show up for court when i'm supposed to

you're cranky this morning...who pissed in your cheerios?

Slow To Optional Point

personally, so long as the intersection has good visibility, i don't see an issue with going after you can see it's clear

imho, most intersections like that should just be yield signs...

if it's almost blind all the way up to the intersection...yeah make it a stop sign...if you can see for 100 feet in both directions from 50 feet back...make it a yield sign and quit using it as an excuse to write tickets

just my two cents

Uhh... yeah.

3MPH != 0MPH

It may be a stupid ticket, but it is a fact that you didn't stop.

So where were you off to in such a rush that you didnt stop?

At least if I am going to roll through a stop sign I look ahead, behind, and to both sides for cops, and i dont do it on a high traffic street, or spots where cops would be parked watching for speeders or violations.

If you are going to break the law at least use some common sense so that you get away with it.

btw, I do run stop signs, I do speed, Im just wondering why you let yourself get caught 🙂

for all of the dumbasses in this thread who say, stop, stop, you should stop, why didnt you stop, traffic violation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111111111

Do you ever speed?

oh no I went there!

And dont use the argument that speeding is safer than running stop signs.... at 3 mph with visibility a stop sign might as well be a blinking yellow light.

i'm aware that's the case, but let's use some common sense here...i was sober, the intersection was clear, visibility wasn't impaired in the slightest, there is no crosswalk, not to mention it was 2am anyway, which means practically no traffic in this little one horse town

there was no reason to write that ticket other than to fill a quota

i can understand him using that as an excuse to ensure i wasn't a drunk right at bar rush, and i don't have an issue with that...him wasting 3 minutes of my time to keep the streets safe isn't a problem for me, but that was no reason for me to get a fine and for my insurance rates to go up...i just hope the judge goes along with deferment

i don't know where he came from, there were no headlights around me at all...he must have been parked at least a block away

EDIT: or running with no headlights

I don't even want to hear about tickets.

I got pulled over and reamed from behind. And not only did they not use lube, they made sure everything was dry first. I'm sure I'll post a thread about it sometime.

lol...

It's illegal. End of story. Whether or not you think it's right is irrelevant, and has no bearing on traffic law. 😛

I actually have had 2 cops in my city tell me that the traffic system here is so backed up if you challge the ticket it will be dismissed. No matter what.

heh, they don't hardly have anything to do here

doubt that will happen, but maybe i'll get lucky :crossesfingers;

I've found that some cars are cop magnets, some are invisible to cops, and some cops just don't want to pull over.

1. Anything "riced out" or an obvious sports car (your z)
2. Gray Volvo
3. VW Bus (mostly because they don't believe it's really doing 80... heh)

Color is a factor too. I got pulled over several times in my old Saab because it was red. I used to get pulled over frequently in my 96 S10 because it was lowered and had a tonneau cover.

And yet none of it would have happened if you had just stopped, like you're supposed to.

The law makes no mention of whether it was relevant for you to stop or anything, it just says you must stop, and you didn't.

That's all there is to it. If you don't think it was relevant for the citation, then lucky for you that you can plead your case with the judge.
