so in my town we have no crime so the loser cops sit on the side of the road all day commiting highway robbery. yesterday i got another seat belt ticket. ive had two seatbelt violations in the last couple years, i cant remember if ive gotten one in the last year. do you know whether if you get a certain number they start counting as moving violations? also if you get more than one in a certain period of time does the fine jump up? i think i paid $120 last time, thanks to a fraudulent traffic court that always finds in favor of the cops no matter what the facts are.

Sounds like it's about time to put your damn seatbelt on you fucking dimwit.

Go ahead and keep blaming the cops for your idiocy though, that always goes well around here...

"(h) Notwithstanding subdivision (a) of Section 42001, a violation of subdivision (d), (e), or (f) is an infraction punishable by a fine of not more than twenty dollars ($20) for a first offense, and a fine of not more than fifty dollars ($50) for each subsequent offense. Nobody seems to know the answers to your questions so clearly you need to keep racking up the tickets to find out.

Please post back when you know.

you don't have to answer this, because I honestly don't care, but...what, exactly, are the "facts?"

i went into court and said "i had my seatbelt on and i wasnt at that location on that date" (the cop had written down the wrong intersection at which he had pulled me over). cop says "i dont remember this stop but my notes say i pullled someone over on this date for a seatbelt violation". in traffic court everyone is disputing what happened in their case but 100% of the cases are found in the court's/cops' favor. they cant let a defendant win because then theyd have to let a bunch of other people win, which would be bad for business. its funny i had to go to traffic court in san francisco a couple months ago and i was the last person on the docket and all the other defendants had left, and guess what, the judge let me win, but i have no doubt if there had been a courtroom full of people there that day there is no way she could have done that

he clearly had the cop faked out before he put on his siren, the fact is that if you fake out the cop you avoid a ticket. right? wait, no.

i also call BS that the OP "forgot" to put his seat belt on until the moment he realized he was about to get another ticket.

Nah, I think that's current...but your $120 probably included all the various fees they tack onto a fine.

I've worn seat belts since the early 70's...before they became mandatory. Hell, even the old lap belts are better than NO seat belt.

I've never understood the "I forgot to put my seatbelt on" defense.

What's with you and tickets/getting stopped by cops a lot/traffic court? Are you just a stupid, ignorant, lazy driver or do you really not have a clue? In my 40 years of driving, I've been to traffic court one time.....for one single ticket. (82 in a 55.) It was cheaper than just paying the fine in this particular case.

As for the seatbelt.....how do you "forget" to put it on? While I will start my car sometimes without it being on, it never gets put into gear or moves until everyone in the vehicle is belted.
