First off I have an old monitor but it does what I need it to do so I’m not replacing it.
My monitor is 60hz so it cannot display more than 60fps. I noticed Nvidia has a global frame rate cap option. The slider is kind of weird to use but I capped my frames at 66. Now my video card is substantially more quiet while playing some games, particularly in Hell Let Loose. Huge improvement overall.
Why have a game run faster than your monitor is capable of displaying. I read some talk about input lag and such but as of now I notice no difference, I do notice my 1660ti fans don’t spin anywhere near as loud as they did. I would assume working the graphics card less will increase its longevity too.
I recommend checking into this setting for everyone unless I missed something.
