Got a weird problem ...

My brother's PC back in Cyprus is acting up and he doesn't know what to do. When ever he tries to play a game (2D or 3D) the computer either locks up or restarts. It's a Celeron II 566MHz on a Asus P3V133 with a Voodoo3 2000 and 128MB RAM. The problems started after the Asus motherboard was installed (BH6 died).

The system is at default settings (not overclocked) and he has already formated once (about to do a second one). The weird thing is that on UT the game doesn't crash, but your character just freezes (u can't move or fire), although you can see everyone playing on the backround (the bots that is ).

Is there a possibility that there is a problem between the Via chipset and the Voodoo3?

Thanx in advance.

If you think that's a weird problem listen to this one:

I have a radio sitting on my desk and whenever you manually drag the scroll bar in Internet Explorer (only) a ticking noise it heard when listening to 570AM.

Have you checked your power supply??? mebbe you have too much stuff and not enough power, take out all the unnecessary stuff then try running it, if it works, go to a power supply that has a higher wattage rating.

What operating system??if its Win 98 there is no need to load those via 4-1 BUT...he does have to load the AGP drivers....maybe that is problem...just my .02

It happens on both Win98 and Win2000 and the drivers don't do a thing. Anyway, he has a PCI Voodoo3, what would he need the AGP drivers for?
