Got a weird error screen and had to restart??!?!?

i was just listening to windows media player, downloading off limewire, and talking on aim.. then boom a screen comes up

I've had that before. Don't remember why but judging by that pick it looks like it's an IRQ error. Add any new hardware lately? Or new software?

I've had that error before. At first, thought it was my RAM. Memtest came back fine. Updated the BIOS, no change. Then I noticed my usb ports had died. Switched out my cheap FIC motherboard (never buy again) for an Asus. Problem solved.

I dunno? My friend installed windows for me. Is that the problem?

You definitely want to make sure that Windows is up-to-date. Go to Windows Update and make sure that all critical updates are installed. After they install and you reboot, go back and make sure there are no more. Repeat until no critical updates are listed.

What sound card are you using? You say it happened while you were listening to music. Let's start there. Make sure your sound card drivers are up to date.

not listening to music but downloading torrents...

i havent been on my computer for 3 days, ill update with more info later...
i did however check my logs and nothing had a yellow or red warning
