Got a Traffic Ticket (Failure to Signal), cop erroneously filled out Registration Expiration on the ticket as the issue

I received a Traffic Ticket, Failure to Signal, nice quota filler, I consciously always signal when changing lanes but this is neither the time nor the place to discuss driving habits.

Anyway, I have a call into my cousin who is a lawyer but I want to see if anyone here knows... while filling out the info on the ticket he entered 8/12/07 in place of registration expiration, however, that was the date he gave me the ticket (registration expires some time in the future like 11/09 or something.) Does that hold any water in dismissing the ticket?

Thanks :)

And I'll drive safer next time.

Probably not. If he had filled in the registration expiration date as the ticket date you probably could have had it kicked.

Sorry, Dude, clerical type mistakes don't absolve you of your responsibilities.
Now if he had used the wrong color ink.......
