BTW...i just got a ticket tonight on I-275 @ 7 mile doing 80/70mph on the expressway. That's a one point ticket. My license is GONE!!!!!

you see Gratiot is the place where everybody goes on the weekends to street race, so the cops down there are assholes.

Doesn't seem like the people who keep going there to street race are any too bright.

Dang only seven points to get a suspension. In Alabama it is 14. That may seem like a bunch but I did it fairly quick. Took me less than two years to get it suspended for tickets.

I had 4 speeding, one wreckless driving, one following too closely, one driving on the wrong side of the road, and one improper start from stop reduced from wreckless driving.

BTW, all these tickets from the town I used to live in(8,000 people). Oh did I mention that the cops had it in for me from day one and that one actually told me they weren't going to quit busting my ass until I either got my license suspended or insurance got yanked. Insurance hasn't been yanked but I did lose my license for three months. It didn't matter because I was waiting on my car to get finished from SHM anyways.

Oh one last thing. Get a lawyer. If not you will hate life after the judge fines the hell out of you and suspends your license.

Here in oregon, Ive gotten 2 tickets (45 in a 25 and 85 in a 65). My insurance is still under $100/mo for a 99 camry.

I can't get any more fines/license suspended if I dont show up at all to court and just pay the fine, correct?

The problem is my dad is expecting me to work for him tomorrow (the court date) and I have no clue how to get out of it so I can go to court w/o him finding out about the ticket.
Also, does anyone know if I can even fight the ticket in court w/o my parents being there because I'm under 18 (wont be 18 till next month).

Also.....not that it really matters, but the other 2 points that I have were from speeding in my truck (wrote up for 60/50), plus about a week after I got the 4pt ticket, I was pulled over again and given a warning for drag racing which was a line of BS but thats another story.

When I called the court awhile back, they said license gets suspended at 12pts because I'm still on probation (every new driver is) but she said the Sec. of State can still pull it if they decide to before then.

Don't worry about your license being suspended. I'm from the Detroit area too and I had 7 points on my license up until a few months ago. By the way, you are asking for it by racing on Gratiot, all cops know they can hit their quotas by hanging out ther on friday/saturday nights.

Jebus, it makes me crazy how people say "you are screwed" when someone whines about a traffic ticket here!!!!

I have NEVER been convicted, have NO points on my license, and I really could not tell you how many tickets I have beat...because I HAD A LAWYER.

Glad to hear it. I'm going to use a lawyer for the first time for a 80/50 ticket I received last weekend. Court date in Sept...
