Got a surprise refund....again

Since I got a check today for 1,300 I figured I would look at a new case.

I have an Antec full tower that is heavy I bought at CompUSA in about 2000.

I don't know what they were thinking with this case but both my xp and 939 abit boards have the ram right where the haning drive bay is installed, making it impossible to have the drives there.

I just place the cage in the top portion of the case where the larger drives would go. They just rest there with the cage sitting there not fastened to anything else.

I read the roundup with the eclipse and antec p180. I can run to BB and get it for about 150.

I had to break out some of the front panels to lower the dvd rom to plug it into the motherboard.

I read how placing the psu on the bottom might be a problem with the 180, but the KN8 has the PSU plug on the right edge around the middle of the board and not near the top like the test motherboard they had.

I have the Thermaltake purepower 420 which has long plugs.

Learned that long ago. So I now make sure to repeat the title and subject in my message.

Anyway...
If you haven't seen a P180 in person make an effort to check it out. (Chicagoland Fry's has one out. Maybe all fry's do?) Anyway after getting a chance to touch, feel, and play with the P180, I wanted one. Since I've sworn to myself that I'm only building MicroATX or SFF systems for myself, I resisted. I've been recomending it to others and trying to use it in builds. Most "customers" (friends/family/co-workers) all want SFF or Massive Cases with 3 windows and half a dozen UV lights. So the elegance of the P180 is lost on them. I can only hope that one of them has a spouse that will complain about noise ... 🙂
