Take it to the vet / cats protection society (if you have that in the US?).

They'll find out how old he/she is and take care of everything.

In the UK there are several charities that will never put down a healthy animal - I'm sure you have a similar charity in the US :)

The vet can tell by the teeth, she is just a kitten couple months old, tops. She most likely has tape worms, most strays do. She'll need to be treated, shelter can do all that.

Bring her in to the vet. You've already done an honorable thing by saving her life. now take her to the vet for kitten treatment (worming, etc...)

You're doing a good thing, you are. I have used a live trap, baited it with wet food, get's them everytime. Over the years, when there have been a run of cats, I break out the trap, get them, take them in. Caught a racoon once, fat thing just sitting there. Some cats are so wild, there is no chance for them, one grey tom cat, dirty, meaner en spit, you look at him, and he would freak out, and literally climb the cage, he was wild, scared the crap out of me. :Q

The good ones, go to the SPCA, or a no kill shelter. If they have no tag, tough luck, dumbass owners for not putting a collar on them.

I've probably caught close to 50 cats, I kid not. That's over a 15 year span, or so.

ya, This cat was very hungry so all I did was get a laundry basket, and a stick and a rope and I put out a raw hot dog and some milk. we scared him off about 2 times but he came back the 3rd time he was in perfect position so I pulled the cord and we got him but he went crazy in the basket for like 2 min then we game him some food and then the next day we got him cat food which he loves. :)

Ok, Umm the cat has not made poo scince yester day which was very little, shouodl I be alarmed that it is not making poo. what I think is that it hasent ate that much and so almost all the food she has ate is being absorbed IMHO

If she hasn't been eliminating recently, you'll need to take a cotton ball soaked in warm water and rub her naughty bits with it.

That's what her mum would do.

Seriously, I was a veterinary technician long ago. She will need emergency care if she doesn't go within a day or so.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, her system needs to get straightened out with good food, she'll be fine. Have some kitten chow on hand too?

As you say, if you don't intend on keeping it, instead of prolonging the inevitable, you might as well give it to someone who can get it the proper care it needs. The humane society, etc. There are lots of non-euthenizing places now.

If you are going to keep it, just don't feed it any old crap. Get some decent quality cat food like Eukenuba.

call it Atot pronounced Ay-taught

She just pooped. It was dark not, yellow nothing just regular color. And pooped 4 times what she did the first day I got her. I just cleaned it up and now she is a attached to me. I looked at her butt hole and it looks inflamed I don?t really know. But like I said I have to wait till some one claims it, if not with in a week I am going to the humane society. I will call up for update and so on. I love cats. Its my parents they don?t my dad don?t like anything my mom only likes dogs. soo... I am helping it now but then it will have to go. :brokenheart:

Where did you find this cat. Have you checked it for fleas? And have you checked the stool for worms? You mention it is eating. is it drinking enough water? you might want to go to the store and get it some cat milk. they sell it in most supermarkets and i know wal-mart has it.

if you lived closer, i would take it... but there are enough stray cats here that i dont need to drive over 1,000 miles for one.

lastly, you might wanna take it to the vet. if you are not gonna keep it, then give it to the humane society soon, while it is still small enough that someone will want it. Kittens go quickly, bigger cats do not. and if the cat has any illness or disease, it would be best that the humane society treat it asap if you cannot get it to a vet.

gorgeous kitty. :)
