Theres a hell of alot more factors in insurance rates than this. Do you think if everyone stopped going to court and just paid their fines insurance companies would lower rates?...

If these clowns would drive in a more responsible manner, it would cost everyone less in the long run, in all aspects listed. If you're not man enough to take your lumps, don't ask for them!

Sounds like your friend's a complete douchebag.

Agreed. We all have to pay taxes to support overworked cops and courts, so that these clowns can skirt the system. And then someone gets hurt, and we pay some more in higher insurance rates and medical costs.

Maybe if everyone paid their fines instead of getting daddy's lawyer to bail them out of their 30 over speeding ticket + wreckless, they would think twice about doing it the second time, and the third time, and the fourth time, and the time they kill a mother who was driving my newborn baby to school.

All I said was that I go to court to exercise my right to do so. And my doing that has nothing to do with higher insurance rates and medical costs or overworked cops.

edit:
I definately agree with you with the fact that daddy pays a lawyer to get his kid a get out of jail all the time is a crock and it irks me just as much as you.

Are unmarked cars legal in your state?

Personally, I side with the Shut up and pay it, but if marked cars cannot legally pull you over in your state, then find that law, take it to the judge and tell them you want the charges dropped.

If they weren't legal then a police agency wouldn't be using them. Where are unmarked cars illegal?

I believe in Ohio and Indiana, unmarked cars cannot perform traffic stops.

This is not because people don't liked being tricked into thinking it is safe to speed, this is because an unmarked car could be easily faked by a con artist with a fake uniform and some lights from radio shack.

That's semi-understandable, but then it's possible that people wouldn't pull over to move out of the way of an unmarked car or private vehicle of a police officer/firefighter if they were running code with dash-mounted lights, since they wouldn't want to pull over.
