Coming from a Blackberry 9700 Bold 3g phone. The new phone is like going from a bicycle to the space shuttle. It feels like a mini-ipad. Anyway...

Is there a site that shows how to get 'up and running' with this phone?
Maybe somebody created a list of things for this phone like:
-Power management
-Included Bloatware and how to get rid of it.
-Included apps and what each one does.
-Tips/tricks
-etc...

Congrats. I got one about 3 weeks ago and I generally like mine now.

1. You can see what's using battery by going to Settings -> About -> Battery Usage.
I found my battery life got better when I used the phone more. There's an app that people recommend called "betterbatterystats" (link). Also here's a general guide to battery savings here at XDA developers.
2. I can't figure out how to get rid of the bloatware unless you root and delete it manually, or install a custom ROM like unnamed ROM (link).

I'll be interested to see what other more experienced users write...

I got a Galaxy S2 2-3 weeks ago and it seems I am getting slow network speed with AT&T.

I am usually getting 1-2 MBPS.

Is this normal?

if you want to do anything to your phone that lets you manage bloatware and power usage, you will need to root

once you root, you can uninstall stuff and install custom kernels that can undervolt and usually has a power saving governor.

For the At&t version a decent percentage of the bloatware can be removed by going to Settings-> Applications-> Manage applications and then just picking the app and uninstalling it.

Welcome to the SGS2 club. I am a huge fan myself. I fell in love with the SGS2 upon the international release and I have had the AT&T version from the first day it was available.

First of all, some helpful general hints:

The brightness control via the notification bar is something I use regularly.

I can give you more hints if we knew the version (aka carrier) you have.
