MPG is amazing, even if it doesn't technically quite make sense financially.. it still feels good. I'll never be able to consider even 40MPG good again.
 
I'd probably have to go with the Stage 4, because I'm so used to the same luxuries that I have in my Nissan. It's about $24k, which isn't too bad.

EDIT:

Although, seeing Eli's numbers again made me look for any used Insights out of curiosity. 😉

Yeah, driving my 15 mpg suv to work @ $5/galloon was getting unbearable. And that is being easy on the throttle. Every time I have to step on it to pass, merge, or to get on the freeway I thought to myself, oh there goes $5.
 
I think everyone on this board knows how I feel about Toyotas in general but...

For the life of me I can't find anything to dislike about this. It's actually a good looking hatchback, ridiculously good MPG, cheap enough, actually makes more financial sense than an equivalent Focus/Golf if you're just going to be using it as a second car.

Could I actually like a Prius? Holy crap
 
I think these are gonna be quite popular. They look good, have good MPG, a decent price and interior, etc.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that another member here wasted almost 27K on one, though. The most I'd pay for it is 22K with almost all the options.
 
I'm still hard torn between a Prius C/Prius normal, and a Jetta TDI wagon. The wagon will offer the best driving experience by far, but the worst economy of the bunch. But will also likely be the most comfortable seating of the bunch for my family (two young kids). Price is a wash between the Jetta and Prius..but you can actually get into leather/heated for a lot less in the VW.
 
Looking at the specs for the Prius C it looks like there's a combined HP output of around 100hp?

How does the car feel when you have say 3-4 people in there?

My test drive had 3 people in the car, and the power was more than adequate for city driving. Haven't tested that scenario yet on the freeway. But since this will be my solo commuter car, I doubt that situation will come up frequently. I have other cars for people and cargo hauling

The normal Prius is pretty roomy and is fairly comfortable for 4 adults, 2 kids in the back shouldn't be a problem.

Yeh, but seating position is also important too. VW's have a much better seat height/feel than any Toyota I've have (3 different ones to date).

I can't see the Jetta being that much better than a Prius but I've honestly never compared the two since I wouldn't buy a VW a gunpoint.

How do these rate compared to the new insights? Is the mileage difference between the two substantial?

It's 41/44. A long ways away from a Prius C, or even a regular Prius for that matter. Honda's Hybrid program is a joke.
 
tempting but how tiny is that thing and does it push 4 people inside (if you stuffed them in of course)?

Not bad and it's inexpensive. More proof the gm volt was an epic fail. They should have brought out something like the Prius c.
 
When are they going to fix the center mounted instrument fiasco? For the most part I like this car, but I can't get over this 😡,

It's really upsetting that they used the Insight name for the 2nd generation. 😡

Should have just let the 1st generation Insight go down in history as an amazing piece of equipment rather than tainting it's name with such a piece of garbage.

They're good. The models with lean burn can get spectacular MPG under the right conditions, especially for the size of the car. I have a friend in Buffalo, NY who uses it for winter travel and averages well over 50MPG(Link) He typically drives his Insight, averaging ~80MPG though(Link). 😀
