my HDL is 71
my LDL is 103

Its not like terrible but I;m only 22, I weigh 135lbs and I'm in pretty good shape, I work at least a couple times a week.
Dose this seem kind of high for my age to anyone else?

Your HDL is way high. Total cholesterol without context of triglyceride levels is pretty meaningless. If you have this profile along with decent triglycerides, I'd honestly say you're a pretty healthy fellow.

What was the entire panel? Your cholesterol to HDL ratio is 2.76, which is good, and your LDL to HDL ratio is 1.45, which is great. If you give us your triglyceride levels and they're fairly low (50-100), you're probably one of the healthiest guys here. Heck, my cholesterol was around 130, but my HDL to cholesterol and LDL ratios weren't as good as your's.

Yeah, the total number, without the breakup, doesn't really mean all that much. Your triglycerides are fine. A little lower might be optimal, but you're definitely a low-risk individual at this stage of the game.

Lol, no problem. A lot of people actually argue about cholesterol being a useless measure because a LOT of practitioners just see total cholesterol and put people on a statin for it. But if HDL is very high as well, with balanced triglycerides, there's no worries. Generally, staying below 200 total cholesterol is advised, but people who tend to be above 200 have massive LDLs and high triglycerides as well.

Didn't the doctor go over your levels with you?

Yeah he seemed to think they were ok, though he didnt say much one way or the other. I just figured he wouldn't say anything if it wasnt over some amount. Mostly have to blame my parents, My dad being awesome and telling me that ill have to be on lipitor like him when im in my 50s if I keep it up.
