So I was browsing on monster.com a couple of weeks ago and saw that nintendo of america was hiring for a retail merchanidiser for my area. It was part time and I figured it would be a decent job for a college student over the summer and in the fall. Well today they called and now I have a phone interview tomorrow @ 1. I have been working at staples since 2001, and make around 9.50 an hour, depending on how busy we are. At one point I was very pissed off at staples, but we are now under new management and things are much better. I might as well keep my options open though. Any tips you can give me to be successful? or anyone ever worked for nintendo before?

Congrats on getting the interview. With Bush in the Whitehouse the job market has taken one for the team. I would recommend knowing something about the position and Nintendo as a company. Focus on how your job at Staples has prepared you for this new job. Also, have some questions prepared to ask your interviewer but do not ask about money. Either the interviewer will tell you or you can ask at the second, in person interview. Good Luck!

there have been quite a few "phone interview" posts lately. I don't think this one would necessitate new opinions unless they've worked for Nintendo. Try a search (full text rules). Good luck.

Aside from any helpful comments...ASK THEM ABOUT THE STUPID DS. :)

And good luck with the interview...the usual suggestions with it, but with N, I'm sure it'd help to have good knowledge about the company and current state of the market.

You're saying it as if Bush caused the job market to take a dive.

one thing that is always smiled upon is knowledge of the company. go read all about nintendo and have extensive background information at your disposal. knowing the history of the company and then making your own assesment of where it is going and how you will affect that would be a very solid few sentences. dont talk about money.

HAHA, hes fine, heading to Yale in the fall. He didnt want dean to win anyway, hes seriously a Kerry supporter, he didnt want the pressure of being 'first son' anyway.

Everything bad is Bush's fault. Surely you got the memo
