Lets just say I'm not paying the price on the website and leave it at that. Not allowed to say anymore. :)

Ok... just trying to look out for your interests. A great deal at Best Buy still might not be your best option considering there are companies that sell internet direct and give you really good value.

Can you show me one of these good values?

I made some quick suggestions above.

I just got that Dayton 12" sub along with a Fluance SX-HTB+ set and an Onkyo SR502 receiver and it's amazing. It hits pretty low and hard without sounding boomy. It's only $140 or about $160 with shipping. People on AVS Forum seem to like the Dayton subs more than the JBL E150 and E250. I've never compared them since this is my first HT set (I have Cambridge MegaWorks before this), but the Dayton is one heck of a sub for a first-timer. If you can't get any of the subs at BestBuy for much less than the Dayton, then you might want to read up on it more.

I love the rest of the set as well, but it seems you want to go higher-end than the Fluance set I have.

I think I'd like to pick up a sub first before going full surround. So I'm going to take a look at the ones you guys listed.

While you're at it, check out SVS and HSU for subs.

An SVS PB10 or HSU STF-2 wouldn't cost much more than the Klipsch subs you're considering.

If you have a reciever, 1300$ gets a pretty good 6.1 system

SVS PB-10 subwoofer (500$ after shipping)
3 pairs of Paradigm Titan ($750) before dealer discounts.

A system like this would last you quite a while.

Guys bestbuy.com. :)

I think itr put together a nice system from BB for you. So in store BB is no good? They might have a larger selection.

If you can get to Best Buy to demo, listen to Klipsch and JBL to decide what you want more.

If you're going JBL, get the nicest fronts you can afford with your deal (E60s? E80s? E90s?). If you want to keep cost down, go with bookshelf speakers in front.

Same goes for Klipsch.

Get a center of the same brand that you got your fronts (E35 for JBL, C-3 for Klipsch). The center is the most important speaker for HT, so if that's your main purpose get the one that sounds the best to you (likely the most expensive one from each line).

The surrounds are going to matter the least unless you're planning to listen to music in a 5 channel stereo mode or are going to be listening to DVD-A.
If you are getting a great deal on floorstanders, then get them for surround too (basically what I did since going from RS250s up to RS550s was only $50 difference for the package deals I was getting. If I counted the cost of getting some speaker stands to get the bookshelf speakers up to height it was even less to get the floorstanders.
In DVD movies, very little is going to be coming out of the surrounds, but if you're going to be doing gaming on them, then they could be pretty important.
For JBL looks like you're pretty limited for you choice.
Anyway, see if you can get a demo of a dipole vs a standard speaker in a show room when they're in surround duty and see what you like better.

So, in summary... go in and see if you like Klipsch or JBL better, then get a matching set of those speakers at whatever budget level you're comfortable with.

For the sub, it really doesn't matter as much if you match up brands.
I guess I'll say it again for everyone else to see if they agree:

"I think the JBL e250 would be a good one to look at too if you can get a nice deal on it.

The Dayton 12" is a really good deal. It's only like $140 + shipping but I'd say it will compete with subs twice its cost. If your deal ends up bringing the JBL down to the $250-ish price level, then check it out at Best Buy and if you like it, go with it instead.

If the BB subs (JBL e250 and Klipsch 10") are going to end up being around $300 or more, I think it would probably be worth it to head up to the SVS/HSU subs."
