Currently have a receiver already.
Onkyo TX-SR502
Want a 5.1 or 6.1 surround setup of speakers from bestbuy. On this website only. :) Any recommendations?

Definitive Technologies Mythos Gem x 4
Mythos 7 Center x1
Def Tech Super Cube III

Special thanks to yoyoyowheresdajello for answering many of my questions.

Does BB sell Athena anymore?

I think Klipsch would be a good pick if you like the sound.

If you can go into Best Buy and do some demos with material you bring in, I think that would be a good idea.

weak satellite speakers. in my oppinion, for home theater speakers, the least i would spend is $1,000 for a 5.1 setup. that would include floorstanding main speakers.

Coming from a guy who has four floorstanding speakers, I don't see the point in limiting yourself to floorstanding. A good set of bookshelf speakers should do very well when you're including a sub.

i think a jbl setup would be the way to go considering price/performance, as well as the fact you're shopping only at best buy. do some research and read some reviews for each models.

Yeah, looking through their selection it looks like you're pretty limited to JBL or Klipsch.

rear(dipole) i'm not sure how they compare to ordinary bookshelf. y0y0 probably knows more.
center
main
sub

total comes out to be just under $1,000. of course, you can always go the next model up if you like. just read some reviews.

Some people like dipoles, some don't.

It's supposed to give you a more dispersed sound for surround effects while a traditional speaker would be more directional.

FearoftheNight, could you let me in on the secret why you need to get these at best buy?

Just for fun... comparison of something that would be similarly priced online:

Ascend Acoustics 5 x 170s
Partsexpress Dayton 12" sub

= about $975 shipped or so

Axiom 4 x M3tis
VP100 center
Dayton 12" sub

= right about $1000

AV123 4 x ELT
RSC100
Dayton 12"

= maybe $800

Ok... just trying to look out for your interests. A great deal at Best Buy still might not be your best option considering there are companies that sell internet direct and give you really good value.
