I ended up having to set ram volts to 3.0 to get it stable. i got to get a fan over the ram sticks quick though, they will burn your hands if you touch them.

Sy, I can't believe you didn't tell me about these cheap wonderchip steppings :X

I am running the same ram (Kingston BH5) with the 1.33 ram divider with the cas settings at auto, I know it is not optimized, I just don't have the time to mess with it. :) Good luck

Woodsman,

That is awesome. I have no doubt I can do the same, but my memory is holding me back. I am using Kingston HyperX BH5, but I can only get 2.7 volts to the ram with the setting on "high" in the bios.

The cpu seems like it want sto keep going, any errors or crashes I get are ram related.

What ram are you running? Did you do any vdimm mods?

I finally stopped with Opty overclocking after about 10 chips, and my last one that is now sitting in my system isn't that great. It does about 2.7ghz prime stable at 1.47v, but that's alright. I'm hoping I'll do much better when AM2 comes around. Still wish my last chip would have been one of these.

I finally got around to ocing it in my Asrock m1695 mobo and can do 2.9ghz. My Windows installtion crashed so I am not able to go further yet. The voltage was raised to 1.45 as a precaution. It may not be needed. I will see when I hit the htt limit.

I saw AMDZone.com got a new AM2 to 3.3ghz!. I don't remember if it was the FX or 5000+. Not to shabby on the new process AMD is given the AM2 cpu's either way.

Just for bragging, and to bring this one back up...

My Opteron 144 is at 3006 Mhz at 1.45 vcore (I haven't even found the max yet). I am having to run a mega divider on my ram (2:1), since it does not overclock at all with 2.7 volts. I think it is time to invest in some good ram that runs at lower voltage and let this thing rip :D
