Got a new car

Why get a used car when I can get a new car with 0 down at a used car price? Much nicer interior, no smokers smell that's tried to be washed out of it, much more modern electronics (can't take ford DCT's prior to 2014, too unreliable). There was no reason not to do this.

yeah it was definitely a good price but by the looks of it, if you didn't buy this car, you would have paid up for something else. I just don't get buying a new vehicle when you know you're going to buy another vehicle again in a few short years. If you really wanted to save money, you would have spent a few grand on a car, save gas and save money. Now you're in debt for this new vehicle.

It goes far deeper than that. It's about liquidity. I could have spent many thousands on a used car and decrease my money towards debt. Or I can borrow at .9% and basically dump the car for what I've got into it. Tell me, what's the cheapest interest you're offered on a used car? My car is my business transportation, a requirement of my employment. So any used car would have to be 100% mechanically sound, requiring no repairs at time of purchase, 100% rust free, and needing no new parts at time of purchase (namely tires and brakes which are a large chunk of capital right up front to getting a used car). Here in the rust belt, those cars don't come at 5k.

Generally I would agree with the person saying u should of bought used.

But the fact that you travel for work and I live in the rust belt, your logic would be the same logic I have. One thing I would of done different is color. I love green myself and would buy that exact one but with the thoughts of selling/trading in two years, I would of when black/white/silver mainly for possible higher resell valve and wider market of selling people to.

Plus who doesn't like new cars.

I live in california so I guess I'm a little spoiled when it comes to cars... Well congrats on the price because you're right, you drive that car for a few years and you shouldn't really lose much if anything at all on the resale value of the vehicle.

Congrats on the new car! Looks pretty spacious for a smaller vehicle. I am curious about that DCT so I might go test drive one to see how they go.

Colour won't be hard to miss so you should never lose it in a parking lot and nobody will ever say sorry I didn't see you

When my Taurus was in the shop (for about 6 months) the company gave me a fiesta and Focus (it would switch month to month). I enjoyed both cars
