New car coming on the truck today. 2014 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback 200A package in Green Envy with comfort package (electronic AC system, heated seats, heated mirrors) and adding the ford remote start and splashguards. Got a wicked deal on it (300$ below invoice + incentives/rebates). Should be an excellent vehicle to soak up the miles and tide me over until the new F-150's are out and the kinks are fixed.

Pics soon, should hopefully be picking her up tonight.

Nice, congrats! I almost got the 1.0L high-MPG model, but they were OOS until the end of time here in Connecticut, so I jumped to a Kia Soul.

Doing any mods to it?

congats on the new ride! I really like the way a fiesta handles.

That's what attracted me to the car, even the SE model like I got had really good handling. The powerband is great for working around the city which is 80% of my mileage, and you can't beat 32/40 (i found the prius c hatchback just wasn't very fun to drive, and the interior was spartan). What i've played with so far with Sync is amazing. It took me less than a minute to pair my phone and have pandora playing via Applink. I was going to pay extra for a model with 201A for the MFT screen, but I just found after messing with it that it wasn't really worth the $$$ (without nav) compared to what the basic sync system could already do.

I think you made the right choice! I think your needs were a bit bigger of a vehicle than mine. Also, I'm still not sold on the cost/worth of the 1.0, though I imagine the low end torque is sweet.

Not really going to do anything to it, if I was a modder I would have plunked for the ST. But this car is really to hold me out until I pay off my student debt and can afford the F-150 I want. But a car payment of like 250$ a month beats out 700$ a month right now :). Not to mention mpg's.

Nice! Gonna give the car a name?
I named my Tercel Kagome ;)

I'm not sure, I want to. Right now the plan is to give it the plate LNDBARJ that my Expedition proudly wore before a semi totaled it last week :(. It'll be the lil' lndbarj.

Dealer called and said the truck was running late :(. So they are just getting the splashguards on now, and the remote start will get in the car tomorrow. So I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow :(

That, plus when I heard it was probably going to be +$2,000 over sticker, meh! Hehehe.

whats $300 below invoice (lazy to google while on the tablet).

Did you try to see if you could get similiar deal on the ST model.

I've never owned a Ford or an american car for that matter. But the new Focus/Fiesta ST have gotten me thinking about one. I figure both are under $25k so its in my ballpark.

It was 18.1 MSRP without remote start. Invoice was 16.5. I got it to 16.2 plus throw in splash guards. I covered remote start. I then qualified for 750 loyalty cash (owning the expedition), 500 lease conquest (for having the 2013 dart), and 750 bonus cash.

I could have done the same for the ST, but I just didn't want a manual for my city commuter.

Yup! Ford Powershift 6 speed DCT. Drives real smooth on my test drive, no grinding at all. I know that was an issue with early models.

Any culture shock going from an Expedition to a Fiesta? How many Fiestas would comfortably fit inside the Expedition?

You seemed happy with the Dart initially - what changed your mind?

Massive culture shock :(. I'm pretty sure 2 end to end would fit inside of the big girl :p. But as I said this car is for the 1-2 years I need to finish off my student stuff and get my savings back in order. Then I can get that F-150 I want. This is alot cheaper than paying 550+ a month for a truck right now, plus the high teens average fuel economy it would muster. I really really want a truck again, but in all reality I just need a small car. 90% of the time is just me commuting for work (and we travel to sites with our cars, with reimbursement of course). I don't need a giant vehicle, it's just a major compromise on lifestyle ease (it's a big thing for us to be out with bikes, hitting up the lake and what not, throwing stuff around was easy with the truck, not so with just a sedan and a hatchback in the household).

The Dart is not gone, I love that car, and it is much fancier than this car (it is a Limited after all), and lots more powerful. But that is mainly the gf's car :). You can get lease conquest for having another brand's lease in the same household. It doesn't matter who it belongs to, as long as its registered to the same house. Good job Ford on that one.

Did you get it? :D

Not yet, thanks to shipping issue the remote start kit from Ford didn't come in until yesterday about 3PM yesterday. They are supposed to have it installed this morning and ready for pickup around lunch time. With the gf at work I imagine I can't pick it up until late tonight.

Dang so about $14.5k? Sweet deal.

We are about to buy a house that I am considering going from 3 vehicles to 2 since it only has a 1 car wide driveway instead of the 2 we had before. I think we'd end up with a car and our Expedition. Or I might trade in the Expedition and one of the cars and get a newer expedition. But, no problems yet with the current one so I'd have to convince myself on that one...

Photos at last everyone :). The 3 from the customer pickup floor after it had gotten back from parts on the 23rd. The others from today when I finally had daylight time (my commute both morning and evening tend to be at night) to snap pics.

why buy a new car if you're just going to buy another new vehicle in 2 years time?

Well the gf read that and she said "Because the gf is going to kill him if he doesn't get his own mode of transportation." You missed the thread where my truck (the vernable LNDBARJ) got totaled. It was not in my plans to get a car yet, I was holding out on finishing my debt and getting an F-150. But an accident changed the plans. Best laid plans of mice and men ect ect. ;)

Why not get a used car?

Why get a used car when I can get a new car with 0 down at a used car price? Much nicer interior, no smokers smell that's tried to be washed out of it, much more modern electronics (can't take ford DCT's prior to 2014, too unreliable). There was no reason not to do this.
