Nice car. Not my flavour, but I can appreciate a classic for sure. Well done.

Nice car. I would be concerned about the maintenance costs but it's still a nice ride.

Jaguars have never been known for their reliability but I think 70s models were the worst. I've always loved the looks of Jaguars but for some reason that gen doesn't do much for me. I hope you enjoy it and it treats you well, OP.

Yeap, hopefully it will treat me well. So far I have put 500 miles on it, and nothing is wrong, except the fact that refueling digs deeper into my wallet.

Yes, I have read that 1970's Jags were worst in reliability, but fortunately, this car was manufactured right before British Leyland (aka Unions) bought the company.

Pretty much the decision was made before even considering the car, and it was that the Jag will be not a daily commute car, but a weekend car for special occasions.

Don't know what's more impressive: the car, or the fact that nobody has come in here yet whining about no manual transmission.

Missed your comment.. yes, I have noticed that. I guess with a classic car, many people do not think of what kind of a tranny it has. This has a 3 speed auto and its shifting is incredible. It does not wait for the engine to get 2k RPM, but tries to shift as soon as possible when torque is not needed.

The engine rpm when cruising at 60mph is about 2900-3000 RPM.

that is a beautiful car in a beautiful color. I love old jags, congrats. this forum needs more old car love.
