I just got my first bill since the turnover from Marshall Field's to Macy's. I had bought a couch, sofa, and come carpeting last fall during a zero interest-no payments until Jan 2007 promotion. I was pissed to find that my bill now includes interest, calculated at a whopping 21.6%. Assholes. I haven't paid credit-card interest in more than ten years, and I'm not crazy about starting now. I will call them tomorrow to get this straightened out, but it pisses me off that I'm having to make phone calls to assert the terms of a contract that Marshall Field's agreed to.

In any case, if you have a Marshall Field's credit-card account, watch out!

You have to wonder how many poor saps will just blindly go along... I'm pretty sure once you pull out your cred. it will be "yes sir, sorry sir"...

I had actually planned on paying the account off this month - the balance is only about $340, so the interest is only $8-9. It's probably not even worth my time to make a big deal of it, but I just feel as though they're insulting my intelligence, and I'm not paying them a friggin' penny of interest.
