Notice of Action under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act

Report Date/Time: Wed, 12 Jan 2005 01:26:05 -0500

Dear Comcast High-Speed Internet Subscriber:

Comcast has received a notification of claimed infringement made under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the 'DMCA'). This notification, made by a copyright owner or its authorized agent, reports an alleged infringement of one or more copyrighted works made on or over Comcast's High-Speed Internet service (the 'Service'). The works identified in the notification of claimed infringement are listed below. In accordance with the DMCA and Comcast's Acceptable Use Policy, Comcast request that you immediately remove the allegedly infringing works from the Service or Comcast will be forced to remove or block access to the works.

If you believe in good faith that the allegedly infringing works have been removed or blocked by mistake or misidentification, then you may send a counter notification to Comcast. Upon Comcast's receipt of a counter notification that satisfies the requirements of the DMCA, Comcast will provide a copy of the counter notification to the party who sent the original notification of claimed infringement. We will then follow the DMCA's procedures with respect to a received counter notification.

I've got a few of those already. Hell, the first one listed 13 different episodes in it and the second listed 17.

As long as you stopped having it/sharing it, send Comcast a letter saying you did so.

just email them and tell them that you fixed the problem. Nothing more. The issue will be resolved.

Here's what I don't get - The people that make TV shows have issue with people downloading their shows, for whatever reason they have. So, this forces people to get something like Tivo (sure there's still VCRs, but hell, I use mine and it looks like ass on my TV) instead. OF course, even this is bad, since it allows people to *gasp* skip commercials. So, WTF (WTS?) do they want people to do if they can't sit their ass in front of a TV at a scheduled time one day?

Did you share it or just download it?

You can't not share with bittorrent.

you're kidding right?
? You must upload at least a little of the file when downloading it, unless for some reason there are no peers available to connect to.

ARE YOU GUILTY?

Yes, I'm guilty of not taping a show because my fiance took the tape out and downloading it instead. So I downloaded it so I could watch it.

I was under the impression that if you stop seedind as soon as the transfer is complete, that you are relatvely safe...

how long were you seeding it for?
