Got a good deal on this auction?

You just have to hope you can still get any warranty on them. Last I heard when you buy any new mushkin ram you have to register it to get the warranty. Hope you can transfer it if he already registered in his name... Or maybe you don't care about any warranty? I used to buy nothing but mushkin, but I got tired of the high prices (XMS Platinum).

The guys says he didn't register it so eh.. I think it's dumb you have to register it because it should last for quite a while anyways.

That's okay... but it's DDR.

Yes, because ddr2 has such massive performance benefits.

DDR is not future proof.

That $200 is $200 that you could have just put into a new system.

I've always thought about this, but then again, what if this upgrade was what prevented me from upgrading in the near future? let's say I build an AM2 system, building up everything again, then what, it's 3 years down the road, do I upgrade or build another stupid system again? Wouldn't it make more sense to do an upgrade that will make what I have now more useful?

I mean 1GB of ram is a decent amount, excess back when I bought it but now I'm looking for better performance and more ram capacity, is that such a bad idea? Seems like i'd be an endless cycle if I always thought "this could be put towards a new system".
