1) Does it have co-op mode. By this, can two or three people on a lan co-op on a team and work against a computer controlled team? Is this sort of play enjoyable?

2) Does it scale well on older machines? Average machine is around a celeron 450 or so with 32 meg TNT2 or G400 video cards.

3) Most importantly, is it worth $30. I love combat sims. The Delta Force series is probably one of my most favorite series of games. They had great multiplayer coop, and I love the huge outdoor environments.

If I do buy the game, I'll also probably grab the add-on pack for $10 as well.

Any other comments on the game would be appreciated :)

Sorry this isn't in software...but the discussions there on this game are non-existant. I know there are some O:F players here in OT :)

1) Yes (Its my favourite mode too cause AI is so nice and doesnt cheat ala Ghost Recon)
2) Dont know (Options are there to scale graphics down but not sure how it will run on low end machine, especially with large # of troops)
3) Absolutely (This game broke my CS addiction)

The basic game is not co-op. The single missions are not co-op. However, the multiplayer of the game can be co-op. I have played many, many co-op missions on the net with friends (some built into the game, many from sites on the net).

The game runs well for DX8. If your machine can handle DX8, then it'll play it fine. I'd say if you want to play with that Celeron 450, use the TNT2 and scale down the video a lot (640x480, 16 bit, etc). It should be playable on that box, but you may not enjoy it. There is one single mission called Battlefields that you will definitely not be able to run with that setup (it even says on the mission 1ghz+ recommended).

I paid $40 for the UK version and I believe its well worth it. Very fun game if you are into military sims and I wasn't before OFP and I am into them now.

I'd say you'd be much happier with a faster CPU and VID card, but the game is definitely worth it.
