Not siding with anyone, but speaking from experience: For REAL WORK, like hauling half a ton of cement bags in the bed while pulling a 3-ton trailer, nothing beats a full size American pickup truck.

They are also difficult to park, (mostly) ride like crap when unloaded, and suck gas like nobody's business. For "Suburban Sam" who goes camping and makes runs to Home Depot once a month, a small/midsize pup is the sensible choice. Rides like a car (mostly) seats 4/5 and gets decent gas mileage.

Toyota does not really have a stellar track record in the truck sector and based on the rust buckets i have seen the GMC is by the far the better choice here.

Toyota does not have a stellar truck record? That is laughable.

Some of the older 1980s toyota trucks had issues with rust, and I think there were a couple of years with the tundra where the frame had rust.

Why I suggested an older model toyota is because they are a little smaller then a full sized truck, has a V6, gets good gas mileage, and because of the shorter wheel base are easier to park in an urban setting then a full sized truck.

If you do not want a truck, trade that GMC in on a toyota 4-runner.

Are you really trying to tell me that Toyota is more respected in the truck market then ANY of the American truck manufacturers? I drive a Hyundai so its not like i have anything against foreign cars, but you seem to be of the mindset that Toyota makes the best cars period and that is not the truth.
