happened to me earlier in the summer (stepped on jagged wood that went *Through* my shoe)
the nail was prob nice and smooth where mine was a bit more jagged...
If you can keep it clean, and use bacitracin (sp?), mine fully healed up in about 3 weeks....
It was kinda neat watchin all the goo of muscle and stuff try weep out of the hole. No bleeding (amazingly) tho as it was in the fleshy muscle part between ball and heel - just missed the tendon that connects to the 2
