So, finally I got my Opty 170 from newegg today, it had traveled thousands of miles and finally came to my possesion 🙂

It is OSA170DAA6CD CCBBE 0610DPMW

Anyone has this stepping? And what kind of oc I can expect with this stepping?

Greatly appreciated

Looks like I got a really good chip.

ATM, I am running Voltage 1.35V, FSB 312, HTT 3x, memory divider 14 133 mhz @ 200.57 2.5,3,3,6.1T cpu multi 9x resulting in 2.8 GHz, running prime for few minutes already and still stable.

Wonder if I can juice out more from this chip?

HTT is 936 MHZ, is this too low?

What is the max safe temp when running prime on each core? full load

I am running it on ASUS A8N32 SLI Deluxe with OCZ 2x1 GB Platinum XTC and Zalman CPNS9500 LED

my 0610 dpmw took 1.4 for 2800mhz stable

at 2850 you would need 1.4v to 1.45v

at 2900 i think 1.45 to 1.5 volts

temps is what you think is safe , most feel if you keep it below 50c you are fine . others feel up mid 50c that is safe. each has thier own opinion as to what safe limit and voltage is.

its a great stepping that does overclock well

hugs

Mine (a 165) does 2.7 at the stock 1.3V, 2.85 at 1.425V and 2.9 at 1.5V. 2.9 seems to be my limit.

I'm a bit surprised these batches are still available, as I got mine almost five months ago.

Well, NewEgg is always suprising isn't it. I am surprised how well this cpu does with stock volts @ 2.8 no sweat

My X2 4400 couldnt do stable stock volts at 2.4 let alone anything higher

I am very happy with this Opty
