"I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

translation: He cosponsered a Bill that provided federal funds to increase the size and scope of the Internet.

It is not uncommon at all for politicians to push or sponser Bills and later end up taking Credit for the results the bill Produced.

This "Gore created the Internet Argument" that the reich foams over shows the ineptitude, ignorance , and ideolody (the 3 I's, because thats all the right cares about) of the Reich and who they members in power love the weak little minds of their supporters to take any of their "intelligent discourse" as fact.

Im not saying the other party doesnt do the same at times, but nobody uses the ignorance of their voters as a strength of their ideological movement better than the fascist Reich Bible thumpers.

Those are nice links, but where did he say he invented the internet?

the original question was "When did he claim to create the internet? I must have missed that memo."

and Gore did indeed state "I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

a standard liberal ploy is to misquote someone (actually fabricate a statement that was never made) and then
attack the person they are misquoting....(gee, kinda reminds you of all the liberals howling that Bush claimed Saddam was a
imminent threat) Like i said, a standard ploy.

Of course this is a standard conservative ploy as well. Perhaps you can prove this is proprietary to liberalism?
I believe it is a tactic that PEOPLE use at times. It is not dependent on political ideology. I would say your post is a sweeping generalization that YOU like to use. Is this peculiar to conservatives or just yourself?

Will Bush destroy the world? He may have made a strong link towards a major conflict, but worse case, I suspect humanity will eventually recover.

Ashcroft will eat your babies? I have not seen this seriously proposed.. Perhaps your statement is a better comment on your ability to grasp concepts. Maybe it is just fear mongering.
