"and the definition of initiative for some of you who did bad on the sats"

Actually, definition 3 wouldn't apply to Gore's first statement. His statement was, "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

The first statement has the context of definition 2. People taking an intiative to do something means "2. A beginning or introductory step; an opening move: [Example:] took the initiative in trying to solve the problem."

Now, his second statement does have the definition 3 application to it. The first part of it is again definition two, but the second part is definition 3: "I took the initiative (def. 2) in moving forward a whole range of initiatives (def. 3) that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system."

I just thought I should clear that up so one isn't misled to believe otherwise.

One of the early presidents IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY went back to Congress after he was President.

Ah! Touchmyichi, I'm afraid you're right . . . I mean many in CA would share your point of view. And as Not Fred said, Gore would most definitely win amidst the disaster we're in right now. I'm kind of ashamed to be a Californian with the whole mess created with this recall thing. The people choosing to run and those dropping out make it seem as though our state is a joke and doesn't have serious issues to be taken care of by responsible representatives.

Funny even my siblings and I were discussing my sis running. My older sis is convinced that my sis (who's an attorney) would win. I'm not sure about that, but she would come close to it I suppose. However, my sis thinks she's too young and might have too much load to carry. When she gets older, I suppose she will and can run for the position. My point, though, is that this recall just seems like such a joke. I'm worried about the welfare of my state.

You've got to be fvcking kidding me! I can see the arrogance and stupidity is a genetic trait for your family.

Yeah living in california bites, doesn't it? lol. We really need someone big to step up, it doesn't even have to be gore. But honestly I can't think of a better candidate. BTW, anyone who is smashtalking this, why don't you name a better person to run (no bs).

Yeah I agree with you. He would definently lose some face (well in his own mind at least). We could really use him though....
