Gore blames Clinton for the election loss!

I saw on the news that Al Gore hadn't spoken to Bill Clinton for over a year. The two reportedly had a meeting in which Gore blamed Clinton's personal problems for the election loss. Clinton blamed Gore not running on clinton's record.


This just makes me laugh....I wonder if gore told clinton not to get snippy with him.

His association with Slick Willie was part of the reason he lost. But, he could easily have overcome that handicap if he hadn't acted like a pompous, arrogant asshole throughout the campaign. If we had seen the Albert Jr. that emerged during his concession speech, we'd probably be saying President Gore right now.

Bottom line is that he has nobody to blame but himself. He had it handed to him, and he pissed it away.

Gore ought to have fired his handlers. Not just some but all of them. And this could be good advice for any politician. Be yourself. Get your message across honestly so people can identify with you and your ideas. Of course had Gore done that he still would have lost but it would have been easier to swallow.

That is right. It is stupid when Democrates say that Nader lost the election by stealing votes. He didn't "steal" votes. Gore lost votes. Its his own fault.

Oh Contrare Mon Friar. If this were a true statement, Gore would be in the White House. Gore had the most popular votes. Bush had the Electorial votes. Bush won the election. NO ONE stole the election.

8Ball is right, He was announced winner on the day of election and the weeks after when Alice Gore had his cry session and costed us all that money. It's in his DemoCROOK blood anyhow though, so it's expected.

Hmmm, Quite a few thought so, many weren't sure, suprising thing is, there have now been two independent postelection recounts that I've heard of on TV or the internet.......and Bush has won both! To be quite honest, I figured at least one independent recount by now would have showed Gore winning.......

if it were up to Gore, we would have recounted until he won. Which would have been a long time from now. He lost and couldn't take it.

I realize exactly what he meant.......I was simply stating that I was suprised that there has not been an independent recount done that has come up with the numbers to give Gore a win in FL! As for the national totals, as was discussed on &quot;Meet The Press&quot; yes, the numbers show Gore winning by some 540,000 votes, but, that number is still within the acceptable margin of error, and, when the number of registered voters whom did not vote in November is taken into consideration, and their location being overwhelmingly in Midwestern States such as KS, NB, WY, SD, ND, MO, OK, it's a very discernable margin.

ToBeMe, The recount is still going on. There are some efforts to prevent a recount in certain counties under various Republican pretexts. The last count I saw, Gore was ahead by 29,944 votes. His lead was substancial under any standard one cares to apply, dimple one two or three corner, etc. I figure the final numbers are one to two months off yet. The exit polls will be confirmed. Gore won the Florida popular vote not only, Raspewtin, by what most voters actually intended, but actually. That is why the count was stopped. Had they been allowed to count the votes Bush would have lost, O'Conner wouldn't have been able to retire, and Scalea would have, as he said, because he would have had no chance to become Chief Unjustice, and would have become a minority on the court. For the fanaticism of their self certain rectitude they sacrificed everything that is sacred about this country, the principle that we are governed by the will of the people.

Al Gore lost the election by himself. It was stupid of him to try to distance himself from Clinton. If he ran on the successes of the administration, many of which Gore was a part of, he would of won the election. Actually he really did win the election, but I don't want to get into it this late
