You, of all people... *me sadly shakes head*

That was intended for you... and I thought you'd get the underlying sarcasm/irony, knowing me.

Let me break it down, although this kills it :(

My views:

1) Human beings are precious and wonderful creatures
2) Human life is sacred and cannot be subject to objectification, commoditization, or any of those others -isms or -ations
3) Being human and living as a human have such a close nexus that separation is undesirable and shall not be attempted.
4) Females are human beings, quintisentially so
5) With being comes choice, responsibility, and right
6) Under no conditions (save a universally recognized veneer of comedy/drama/art) are human beings to be subject to a deprivation (privatio) of their rights, specifically the right to be human with all of its entailments
7) With the organization of human beings (society), rights shall be preserved and cannot be willfully or unwillingly forfeited
8) Actions that seem altruistic are always suspect and must be followed with an analysis of motivations, preferably a disclosure by the agent.

now let's examine what I posted.

I'm getting imports.

A direct response to an objection to our scheme that there is a real dearth of women. What do I say? I say that:

1) I will engage in an activity that will treat another human being (par excellence, I add) as an object.
2) I will do so for the benefit of a society (attract this prospective person who made an objection)

this is in direct opposition to my value system, specifically points 2 and 3. This much you should have picked up on.

Now the last part, I admit may have thrown you. That altruistic actions are suspect is not something I say all the time but do practice. This is why I follow it up with:

Gotta love free trade...

By this I meant:

1) Free trade has the potential to make everything and everyone into a commodity
2) And that this is undesirable (again, from 2 and 3) and even contradictory.

this I had hoped would reveal my motivations. See it's funny cause I'm making fun of commerce and objectification all in one swoop while preserving a veneer of comedy (this is also the reason I posted it, given that this forum is not reality) :Q

and now I just spent 4 minutes typing an explanation to a complexly twisted post that required much private knowledge. Drats, see, this is why I post in 8-word fragments.

*me holds HotChic's head and starts directing it to move in a vertical motion while turning a certain frown upside down*

HeHe.

Anandtechia lives !

Cheers ! :)

<< I got it, it was an ironic response :) >>
